In 2007 FPAWS helped pass House Bill 1624, which created a committee of elected foster parent representatives, FPAWS representatives and DCYF staff. The committee meets quarterly and all foster parents and caregivers are invited to share thoughts, complaints, feedback or ideas with their foster parent representatives or with us in a comment below or by email to FPAWS to be shared with the committee (anonymously if requested).
This is an opportunity for the voice of foster parents to be heard by state policymakers. Foster parent input is vital to the improvement of the foster care system.
