Association of Enrolled Agents Partnering with the FPAWS and NFPA to Support Foster Parents

 As of December 21st 2009, We have not connected with this program. My advice is that you contact one of these agents and ask them if they are going to provide a discount for foster parents. We will continue trying to connect with their leadership between now and the tax deadline in April.

The Enrolled Agents have recognized the special tax issues surrounding foster care and  are partnering with FPAWS and NFPA to support foster parents by offering free tax preparation to qualified foster parents. Enrolled Agents are tax preparers who are licensed and regulated by the IRS. Information specific to foster parents, adoptive parents and kinship caregivers has been distributed to the participating Enrolled Agents nationwide. Click attachment below for the flyer.

The day has come and past for Foster Parent free or reduced tax preparation in 2009. I encourage foster parents that still need help with their taxes reach out to these Enrolled Agents for assistance. The plan is to return in 2010 with another Foster Parents Tax Day. We will be working with foster parents to see if we can better meet their tax needs. FPAWS and NFPA will be meeting with the Enrolled Agents throughout the year to plan for next tax season. There are few quarentees in life, and one is that tax season will return.
